With access from Facebook, blogs and other social networking sites, this is where young people will be hanging out. I am thinking that IM will now be replaced by meeting in virtual spaces to hang out and do the things we have been doing and suggesting could be done in Second Life - socialising, watching videos etc.
It is easy to see all the social interaction happening via the web 2.0 Facebook stepping into the Web 3.0 environment. Educators if you haven't been into virtual worlds yet, or have thought it is not mainstream, it is time to think again.
Lively provides easy access to online training, discussions, mentoring in a very personal, personable and engaging style - all the things we knew about Second Life but easier to access and where the young people are.
